The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the humanitarian situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and the impact of recent developments on delivering humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable.
The Kurdistan Region currently hosts more than 1 million of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and refugees; 787,367 IDPs and 262,944 Syrian refugees.
The medical assistance is worth of (300,000 USD) and it is the most needed medicine and pharmaceutical items. After the KRG Council of Ministers approved and endorsed the Strategic plan on May 2017, JCC started to implement the strategy and drafting a law for disaster and crisis management is one of the key components of the strategy.
